Part II of Core I

I plan on pursuing a career in teaching and in the world of teaching, technology is always growing. Schools are trying to get the best technology to boost the students learning abilities and skills. I researched on the web for some new technologies and strategies on teaching. I found a new computer program that helps children read. All teachers know that students learn at different rates, this program tries to help everyone learn at closer rates. It will read text that you select, it could be from a website, e-mail, text document or even eBooks. Its called TextAloud and it uses natural voices to read to the students, it especially helps students with learning disabilities.

I have also read about a man who teaches fourth graders by using a lot of computer and internet tools. He has his own class wiki space for kids to research certain topics. The kids can also record their own personal podcasts and upload them to the school website, they also create persuasive arguments and post them to their own blogs. These technologies are ones that will become more advanced as time goes on and I'm sure will be standard procedure by the time I become a teacher. I can do most of the online things the kids in fourth grade do, I also downloaded the TextAloud and it is also relatively easy to use. I'm sure there are plenty more technologies I will have to learn by the time I teach students, and I will continue to research and learn as much as I can so I can be the best teacher I can be.
